I recently came to the conclusion that one of my downline team members had hit another fatal obstacle in his path to network marketing success.

Unfortunately, this was the third time this guy had dedicated himself to building his business, and the third time he appeared to have given up.

Each time, he seemed to start out with a great, can-do attitude.

What happened?

Why do reasonably qualified and capable people start in this business, try over and over, and never quite make it? Is it the fault of the network marketing business model? I don’t think so.

What’s the deal?

There is a significant question that everyone who starts a network marketing business must ask themselves.

How much do you really want it?

Your attitude and thoughts will go a long way in determining how well you will do with your business. You must carefully examine your deep inner beliefs and know what motivates you, what makes you tick.

Do you really want to quit that job and work from home? Is that job with the regular paycheck and the apparent security it offers really something you want to leave? Do you have a deep desire to step out, take risks, and make this happen?

Let’s say you start your home business and start making some money. You dream about leaving your job someday. To achieve success in network marketing, you must analyze and understand your own deep feelings and motivations.

The steps to performing this self analysis include:

- nail down the real reasons you want to make the sacrifices necessary to build a profitable home business; do you have enough motivation deep inside to drive you past roadblocks and obstacles to your success?

- determine if you’re willing to follow a proven plan for network marketing success – are you coachable and willing to learn from established leaders in your upline?

- are you willing to step outside the box and constantly seek ways to improve on the things you do and set yourself apart from the rest of the crowd?

How deep do you need to dig into your beliefs and motivations to achieve network marketing success? There is no set answer. Go as deep as you need to, and however often is necessary. Your success depends on it.
