Almost everybody has heard the hit single ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ by Bobby McFerrin. This song has a very attention-getting way of conveying its message of being happy to everybody. Bobby Mcferiin’s simple message surely made many people happy by telling them not to worry.
Living a happy, resilient and optimistic life is wonderful, and is also good for your health. Being happy actually protects you from the tensions of life. Stress is linked to many of the top killers such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.
Among the best things ever said is – ‘The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change’, and in our life we have the power to make the necessary changes if we want to. Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation we can always discover solace in knowing that it too will change.
Social networks or relationships are all-important to happiness. People are different, accept people for who or what they are, avoid clashes, constant arguments, and let go of all kinds of bitterness. If arguments seem unavoidable still try and make an effort to comprehend the situation and you might just work through it.
Happiness is actually found in everybody, increasing it is a way to make a life more extraordinary and also more healthy.
To be happy is relatively easy, just decide to be a happy person. Abraham Lincoln observed that most people, most of the time chose how happy or stressed, how relaxed or troubled, how bright or dull their mind-set was going to be. The choice is simple really, choose to be happy.
There are several ways by which you can do this.
Showing gratitude is an excellent attitude. We have so much for which to be thankful. Thank the taxi driver for delivering you home safely, thank the cook for an enjoyable dinner and thank the guy who washes your windows. Also thank the mailman for bringing you your mail, thank the policeman for making your place safe and thank God for being alive.
News is stressful. Get less of it. Some people just can’t begin their day without their daily dose of news. Try and think about it, 99% of the news we hear or read is bad news. Starting the day with bad news does not seem to be a wise thing to do.
A spiritual connection is also suggested. Belonging to a spiritual group with its singing, sacraments, chanting, prayers and meditations foster inner peace.
Manage your time. Time is invaluable and too crucial to waste. Time management can be considered as a list of rules that requires scheduling, setting goals, planning, creating lists of things to do and prioritizing. These are the core fundamentals of time management that should be understood to develop an effective personal time management skill. These essential skills can be fine tuned more to include the more fine-grained points of each skill that can give you that extra reserve to make the outcomes you desire.
Laugh and laugh warmly everyday. Heard a funny joke? Tell your friends or family about it. As they say -’Laughter is the best medicine’.
Verbalize your feelings, affections, friendship and passion to others around you. They will more than likely reciprocate your actions. Make an effort to not keep represses anger or frustrations, this is bad for your health. Instead find ways of expressing them in a way that won’t cause more distress or pain to anyone.
Working hard makes for tremendous personal gratification. It gives a sensation of being competent in completing our projects. Achievements are essential for all of us, they give us a sense of value. Work on affairs that you feel are worthy of your time.
Learning is a joyful exercise. Try and discover something new everyday. Learning also makes us expand and broaden our horizons. And could also give us more serendipity in the future.
Run, jog, walk and do other things that your body was made for. Experience life!
Avoid exposure to negative elements like loud noises, toxins and hazardous places.
These are the few simple things you can do day-to-day to be happy.
And always think of the quote from Abraham Lincoln, when he says that, “Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”

Guest article by Mark S. Kearns, Ma, N.H.D.
In recent years, we hear more and more about the Law of Attraction. At any given time, you can find articles, audio and visual programs and seminars, literally around the world on the subject of the law of attraction. However, a majority of people, who have tried to gain mastery of this law, have not met with outstanding success. Most are curious as to what stops their progress.
You can always find a number of videos and movies and seminars produced with the Law of Attraction as the main theme. Yet, the degree of success of the majority that have purchased this material has not been overwhelming. Why?
One of the main reasons for this lack of success lies in the very nature of these natural laws, of which the law of attraction is simply a part of a greater law. I can sum up the main reason for the seemingly visible lack of success by a majority of people who pursue a command of this law with one word. Awareness!
You see you can only take advantage of the things that you are aware of. Even though there is an essence in you that has a clear understanding of the nature and purpose of these natural laws, you are not aware of how to communicate clearly with this essence. In short, you are not aware of the nature of this information, or the means by which to communicate with the source of this information.
A closer investigation of the Law of Attraction reveals that it operates on both a physical and non physical level. In terms of the physical, your thoughts excite your emotions which create your physical feeling. These feeling are physical responses to emotions vibrating at a certain frequency.
They do so by attracting to you and having you attracted to the things that you need to manifest your thought image in the physical world. You become focused, practically to the exclusion of all other stimuli on what you are attracting and being attracted to.
Emotions drive the power of your thought image. The more intense the emotions, the more response you will experience from the infinite source.
The clearer the image you create the more intense the thoughts surrounding that thought image, the more pronounced the response from the universal mind. Emotions act as a catalyst to help bring about the expression of your thought image.
One of the typical barriers to success for most people is the tendency of their thoughts. The thoughts that you constantly revisit on a daily basis, represent the tendency of your thoughts. These are the thoughts that create your reality.
To get the most from the law of attraction here are a few simple guidelines that will definitely help you get the best results. First, be clear in your thought image. Give some thought as to what you want and what makes it important for you to have this. Condense your thought image into its simplest and clearest form.
Use positive phrases to describe your goal. Most people can tell me what they don t want, but not what they do want. Express your desire in terms of what you do want.
The visualizing of your goal should be done daily. Express your vision from the viewpoint of already having possession of the thing that you desire. Remember, your desire in stored in your subconscious mind.
Repeat your visualization process on a daily basis. You must create the habit of possessing this goal for it to become a reality for you. In between visualizations, use affirmations to help tune you to your desire. Finally, believe. Believing is the link from conceiving to achieving.

Time management is basically about being focused. The Pareto Principle also known as the ‘80:20 Rule’ states that 80% of efforts that are not time managed or unfocused generates only 20% of the desired output. Nonetheless, 80% of the desired output can be generated using only 20% of a well time managed effort. Although the ratio ‘80:20′ is only subjective, it is used to put emphasis on how much is lost or how much can be gained with time management.
Some people view time management as a list of rules that involves arranging appointments, goal setting, scrupulous planning, creating things to do lists and prioritizing. These are the core basics of time management that should be comprehended in order to develop an efficient personal time management skill. These simple skills can be further adjusted to include the finer points of each skill that can give you that extra reserve to achieve the outcome you desire.
But there is more skills involved in time management than the simple fundamentals. Abilities such as decision making, natural abilities such as emotional intelligence and vital thinking are also essential to your personal advancement.
Personal time management has to do with everything you do. No matter how huge or small, it all counts. Each new fact you acquire, each new suggestion you consider, each new ability you develop should be taken into consideration.
Having a balanced life-style should be the key outcome in utilizing proper personal time management. This is the main aspect that many practitioners of personal time management fail to grasp.
Time management is about achieving results, not about being busy.
The six areas that personal time management aims to improve in anyone’s life are physical, intellectual, social, career, emotional and spiritual.
The physical portion involves having a healthy body, less tension and fatigue.
The intellectual portion involves learning and other mental growth activities.
The social portion involves acquiring personal or intimate relations and being an active member of society.
The career portion involves education and work.
The emotional portion involves appropriate feelings and wants and projecting them.
The spiritual portion involves a personal quest for meaning.
Thoroughly planning and having a set of things to do list for each of the key areas may not be very practical, but determining which areas in your life are not being given enough consideration is part of time management. Each area creates the whole you, if you are overlooking one area then you are overlooking an important part of yourself.
Personal time management should not be so overwhelming of a task. It is a very sensible and reasonable approach in solving problems big or small.
An effective way of learning time management and improving your personal life is to follow several basic activities.
One of them is to review your goals whether it is immediate or long-term goals often.
A way to do this is to keep a list that is always available to you.
Always determine which task is necessary or not necessary in achieving your goals and which actions are helping you maintain a evenhanded life style.
Each and every one of us has a active time and a time when we slow down, these are our natural cycles. We should be able to identify when to do the more troublesome tasks when we are the sharpest.
Learning to say “No”. You actually see this advice often. Do not disregard it even if it involves saying the word to family or friends.
Pat yourself on the back or just reward yourself in any manner for a beneficial time management result.
Try and get the support from people around you who are actually benefiting from your efforts of time management.
Don’t put things off. Tend to the most important things immediately.
Have a positive out look and set the foundation for success. But be logical in your approach in achieving your goals.
Have a record or journal of all your activities. This will assist you in putting things in their proper perspective.
These are the few steps you initially take in becoming a well rounded individual.
As they say, personal time management is the art and science of constructing a better life.
From the time you integrate, into your life, time management skills; you have opened several options that can provide a broad range of solutions to your personal advancement. It also generates more available opportunities.
