Top Tips To Make Money Online

New businesses are starting up online every day, unfortunately not all are successful. The online businesses that are successful are the ones that have done a great deal of research. You would not buy a house without looking at the surrounding area or without a surveyors report. The same principles apply when looking at a business. One should look at the niche that the online business is going to attract, see if it is plentiful and if there is room for expansion. Never plunge large sums of money into any business until you know exactly what you are getting yourself into. Remember that online businesses do not make overnight millionaires and a great deal of persistence is needed when first launching your new venture.
It is important to consider ones strengths, weaknesses and interests when identifying the online business that meets the criteria. Everybody is given certain attributes in life to which they excel and it is important to utilize these attributes in any business opportunity. Success will come to those far easier if they are interested in, and apply their strengths to tasks that must be undertaken in business.
Along with a budget, the next important thing is to have a marketing plan. Your plan must include the amount of time that you can afford to spend, the kind of strategies that you have decided to invest in and the methods that you plan to use to put your business on its feet. Having a business plan and keeping records and constantly reviewing them, is that at any given time, you will be able to see where your business is headed, instead of having to rely on luck to propel your business towards success.
The next thing to do is to develop a web presence. An online business is not an internet business if you don’t have a web presence. The key here is to develop a website where you can market your product or service. The website should be appealing to the potential customer and should be user friendly. Not all your potential customers are well versed in using the internet and so navigating your website should not be a burden for them. Developing a website should not be expensive and should be within the budget. You can choose to outsource this work to a freelancer which will let you save hundred of dollars which you can use in a more important part of running your business.
The success of an online business greatly relies on successful marketing campaigns. Actually, bigger companies delegate huge parts of their budget in marketing their product, service or company. A good marketing strategy can go a long way towards taking your internet business from being an unheard of entity to a business that is a household name.
Putting together a marketing campaign is something that must be done with great care. Many people make the mistake of writing a quick advert and putting it on a pay per click service and expecting the money to come rolling in. This in fact will probably cost you dearly and the traffic that you receive will not be of that good a quality. In the first instant it is always wise to seek advice from an already established marketer that has a proven record of success and simply copy what they have done.
Marketing cost should not be high. You are lucky that you are venturing on an internet business where the internet offers a lot of cheap but effective marketing tools. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars just to market your online business. There are cheap and sometimes free marketing tools that you can use in marketing your online business. These include article marketing, social networking, directory listing, blog posting and a lot more.
Remember one thing at all times, you can be offering the best product or service on the net but unless your target audience can find you then you will have no customers. Market yourself well and learn to walk before you start to run and success will be closer than you think.

What is Pay Per Click?

Everyday I get a question on my blog about what exactly is PPC or pay per click? Well I figure we can go over at least the basics here and try to get some of you newcomers a better understanding on what its all about. There is a ton of information out there so keep researching as knowledge is the key.
So while searching the net I’m sure you have come across a page that had “sponsored links”. Or lets look at a search engine page after you actually typed something in and clicked go. The results come back with paid advertising on the top and right hand side. Those little three line ads. The left or middle is the unpaid or organic search results. These are determined relevant by the search engine. Back to the ads. Those are the pay per clicks ads.
So people are paying to have their ad show up on the top or on the right side when you search for something. The kicker is that they only pay when someone clicks on their ad. That’s why its called pay per click. They bid on what the click is worth to them and only pay when someone actually clicks on the ad.
So to go deeper, when do those ads show up? Well the advertiser first determines who he wants those ads to appear to. This is his market. Who he is selling to. He will build whats called a keyword list with possibly hundreds of keywords or phrases that someone might enter into the search engine when looking for his product.
The advertiser will enter the list of keywords they want their ad to show up for. They then bid on what that keyword or phrase is worth to them. For instance they may bid low on a broad keyword like “shoes” But bid more on a more specific phrase like “red high top shoes” The thought here is that a more specific phrase means the searcher is closer to buying.
So simply put (It goes deeper) the more you bid on a keyword the high you will show in the advertising results. This is scientifically proven to get more clicks, or a better click through rate. The goal is to get the people who are close to buying to click your ad. They then will get sent to you website in hopes for a sale. Remember we only pay when someone actually clicks on the ad and not the impression, which is how many times the ad shows.
Pay per click lets the advertiser pay only for a very target list or group of people. Instead of a sign on the highway that thousands may see but the demographics are across the map. Old, young, men, women, not the most targeted group of people depending on the product. The PPC marketer only pays when someone clicks on their ad after they searched for a keyword specified in their list.
PPC is in my opinion the best way of advertising to a targeted group of people or buyers. The downfall is that you can lose money very fast if you do not know what you are doing. If you would like more advanced information check out my site or feel free to email me. I have been a part of a new program Google Secret Loophole that works extremely well. Let’s a minute right now and talk about online marketing strategies in general, and just give a reminder of all the different things that you could be doing to promote your online business. The fact is that you need to be doing multiple things if you’re really going to see some long term success. So let’s do a quick review of some of the main strategies.
A Note About Using Online Marketing Strategies
I don’t want you to get overwhelmed with all there is to do to market your website. You need to test these different strategies and see what works for your business. Test, tweak, find what works, and then optimize what works!
SEO
This is probably the one marketing strategy that everyone wants to learn how to do, and honestly should learn how to do. And for good reason! How could you pass up tons of free traffic if you can get ranked for the right keywords? It can really be a great thing!
SEO is a great thing, but you really need to be aware that it takes a lot of time and effort before you’ll see results with it. Have the determination to stick with it and eventually you’ll see results.
Social Media
Social media marketing and optimization is one of the newer online marketing strategies, but it can be a great way to get exposure, bring in additional traffic, and links. You can use sites like Facebook, StumbleUpon, Digg, and others to increase your traffic and exposure. They can also really help with SEO.
Pay Per Click
A lot of people seem to be afraid of this online marketing strategy because they’re afraid that they’re going to lose money without having any control over it.. The good thing is that these days you pretty much have to set up budgets and protections so that you don’t spend more than you’re comfortable with.
Here are 3 reasons why you should learn how to do PPC: you can get traffic faster with PPC than you can with SEO; you can do really good testing with PPC; you can target more phrases with PPC than you can with SEO. Learn how to do it, then take use it to your advantage!
JV Partnerships
Here’s an example of a joint venture idea: Let’s say you have a site that sells health products. Well, what if you went and found a popular health newsletter and made them an offer where you would give them a promo code that they can give to their readers. If any of their readers use that code on your site you’ll split the profit with them. This way you both benefit from the agreement!
Email Campaigns
Have a newsletter that you send out every week or two, but make sure that you’re giving out valuable content and not just advertisements. This is a great way to keep in touch with current and potential customers. You’ve all heard by this time I’m sure of the value of building a list.
Shopping Networks
There are a lot of sites out there that shoppers are already using to find good deals. These include Shopzilla.com, Shopping.com, Shop.com, Amazon.com, Google Base, and others. A lot of these sites run a PPC-like program, but some are even free like Google Base. If you have a retail or dropshipping business this is on strategy you should definitely be using.
Final Thoughts About Different Online Marketing Strategies
This was not meant to be an all-inclusive list of all the strategies you can use, but this should get you started. Think about your site and model, and think about which of these approaches could work for you.
My hope is that after reading this article you understand that there is more to do than just SEO and PPC. Use some of these other online marketing strategies and see what works for you!
