There are many ways out there today that you can make money on the internet. However, one of the easiest and most efficient ways to make money is by affiliate marketing. The nice benefit to affiliate marketing is its so easy to make money, and it is very little work. Affiliate marketing allows you to recommend good products to the buyers who want them, so you avoid dealing with customer service problems, and product design.
However, if you don’t know what you’re doing, your affiliate money could disappear on you. That’s why you need to protect your commissions. Let’s look at the top three ways to start making more affiliate cash right away.
1. Stop making use of direct affiliate links
When it comes to affiliate links that you put out on the internet, it is best that you know that you have to be very careful as to what exactly you are doing. There are a lot of link hijackers out there that will take out your affiliate ID, and switch if for theirs. This will lead to you losing your commissions to them so it’s best that you cloak your link so that hijackers can’t steal them from you.
Now with that said there are many different things that you have to watch out for when it comes to affiliate marketing. One thing that could be bad for your business is getting online and putting out dead links.
There are many people out there today that have no clue how to promote or make money online. There are some who have no clue what dead links are and probably have them sitting out there and don’t even know it. A dead link is when you post your direct link back to your site on another page of a similar product and that site goes down or the product is no longer sold. This is a lot of times done by posting affiliate links on to twitter, blogs, or maybe an e-book that is no longer sold. The best way to get around this is to make sure that you use a re-direct link so that if you find yourself in this position you are able to change out the link to another similar product and fast.
2. Watching out the sources of sales leaks
As said above you have to watch out link hijackers taking your money however, some of the biggest thieves when it comes to setting up affiliate links is the vendors themselves. There are some times when its a mistake, in which a new marketer may not know what they are doing, however, in a lot of cases it the vendor trying to rip you off on purpose.
The way most sites should be set up, is so there shouldn’t be any reason as to why people should leave the buying page with anything other than the buy or back buttons. Putting up adsense on a page allows the buyer to see something that interests them and click on a link to go an affiliate page. However, once the vendors get their money through adsense they do not always give up your commission. So the best thing to do is to skip the vendors either way.
Are there alternative payment options? Vendors can sneakily reach into your pocket by offering many different payment options on the landing page. Make sure you credit even if the customer picks a different option. Otherwise, you could run into a bad situation. For instance, if your vendor uses Clickbank for affiliate tracking, but encourages customers to call orders in, you won’t get paid.
One other way that vendors will get around paying your portion of the commission is by directing a buyer to a different page to get answers. If a customer calls and has questions the rep will direct them to a page in which you will not get paid, so that they do not have to come out of pocket with the commission.
3. Figuring out how the vendors keep your money
Just like something that you buy in the retail world, when setting up an affiliate link agreement you must read over the terms and conditions carefully. This is where a lot of your money will go, because there will be specifics on how their payment program works and the loopholes that are in it. If you do not read it carefully you may be costing yourself a lot of money.
Summary:
Looking back on this article there are many different things that you have to do in order to protect your money through affiliate marketing. The best thing for you to do is to make sure that you follow these three things so that you do not let someone else get your money.

Affiliate marketing is the business of promoting the product and service of another company or person, in return for a pre agreed commission. The affiliate is an individual who promotes the venture’s products. Affiliates usually put up a website and place ads, banners and advertising texts or blogs. Their job is to generate traffic and leads to the venture’s website and internet business. Affiliate marketing is becoming so popular due to the low startup capital required so as to start an internet business.

Let’s face it, economic times are pretty hard right now and just about everyone can use some extra money. Many don’t have the time or energy to decipher through each and every work from home offer, as there are millions and no one has any investment cash to get started on anything that carries even a slight risk.
Use your Internet and do some research. Keep in mind that there are some works from home businesses that are going to require a small start up fee. They often have to do this to protect them, otherwise many people would show an interest that wasn’t genuine and the company would keep sending out starter kits with no ROI.
Conduct your own investigation before starting. Look for these things as good indicators, which is the return on investment (ROI)?
Is there real potential money? Is it easy to implement? Is your privacy are protected? What kind of customer service is offered?
Once you use these factors as indicators will be left with about 20% to choose from. These are legitimate businesses that provide a good income. Keep in mind that some of them under 20% want a small fee to start, but they work.
Be Persistent! Don’t expect to get rich overnight. Everything worth something will take time.
If you are really desperate for money then this might not be for you because it will take a bit before you start generating an income. Home based businesses are profitable with time and work.
Find your niche! Everybody can do something. Whatever it is, learn how to make money at it. If things don’t go great at first don’t beat yourself up, just try again and you will find success.
Don’t take the first opportunity that comes your way, you can afford to be selective. Remember, what you are taking on is a reflection of you. There are many products and services for you to represent unless you have your own.
Consider affiliate programs which will likely increase your sales. There are so many Internet tools and software on the market that there really is very little that you has to do yourself. This is a far cry from the old days of direct mail.
When operating a home based business or when you work from home you will market your business all of the time. How, you do this by having a system in place including a website, a blog, and a follow up system.
